6/18/2008  New Shoes

Picked up some new wheels and tires.  16x8 Rota Slipstreams wrapped with 205/50/16 Hankook Z214 r-comps.  I got a great deal on everything, and Hankook is offering great contingency program which should basically pay for the setup within a few events.

6/13/2008  Pocono South and Park City Autox

On May 3rd, EMRA held a Time Trials event at Pocono South.  Nearly rained and fogged out, we finally made it onto the track at 10am.  Run groups were combined student/red and blue/white.  I was in red, stuck with some students, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.  This track is very hard on the passenger front tire, as I found out (after my timed runs were over, and ruined).

There were some very nice cars at this event, check out the media section for pics.

June 1st was the Susquehanna SCCA Autocross at Park City.  This was a fun layout considering the little Park City lot.  I ended up 1st in DSP and 10th fastest time of the day out of ~120 drivers.  The car hooked up well and felt good (I tried lower pressures).  I slipped up on every run, and had another 1+ second on each run that could have easily been made up.  Pics and videos can be found in the media section.

4/25/2008  In-car Camera Write-up

I decided to do an in-car camera write-up, as it can be confusing for someone with no experience.  I went the cheapest route that would still allow excellent quality video, and it worked out great!  Click the link below to check it out!

4/19/2008  EMRA Time Trials @ Shenandoah

Where do I start?  By far the best weekend I've had so far this year.  We left Friday for WV, grabbed a hotel for the night, and downed a few beers.  Saturday we went over to the track and had an absolute blast.  Shenandoah is so technical and challenging.  It lacks the speed of the Main circuit, but is no less fun by any means.  The Carousel, The Corkscrew, the Hammer, it's just a great track!!!  I ended up 1st in ST3, which surprised me. I still had a dead in-tank fuel pump from the week before (luckily there is 2 in this car).  I had no power coming out of right hand turns.  It didn't stop me, I still had a blast!  We went back to the hotel for the night, downed more beers, and went back to the track Sunday to do some flagging for the sprint races.  That was a great experience.  Despite it being rainy and cold, the action was non-stop!

Here's a video I made from several clips taken throughout the day.

4/12/2008 & 4/13/2008  Susquehanna SCCA autocross @ Hershey

VERY awesome first event for the season.  Dave Newman designed two fast, flowing, and challenging courses.  The rain held out luckily, and temps were nice (especially Saturday!).  I had a lot of bugs to work out, and they all showed themselves on Sunday.  I had a fuel pump die, a loose shifter, and some plug wires that refused to stay tight.  I still managed 1st place in DSP both days, so it was a great start to the season

1/27/2008  Surgery

As part of the off season teardown of the 325is, the rust has to be fixed.  A panel had to be cut out of my 89 325i parts car, fixed a small rust hole in the panel, and then it was welded in place.  Since these pictures, I've smoothed the welds, sealed everything, and undercoated it - it's hard to tell any work was even done.  Thanks to Chris for the welding!

1/27/2008  SCCA Awards Banquet

The Susquehanna region SCCA held their annual awards banquet last weekend.  It was a great time, with lots of beer, food, and people.  Brought home a pretty nice trophy for 2nd place in the season championship for DSP.
